All over the place, use to go to Bathurst and watch them run back in the late 80's and early 90,s and still go and see the TTA AE82 run. So over the years I just collected anything to do with T.T.A just love the AE82/92 race cars so got a fair few pics and articals on them. I'v got some more I'll post them up for you in the next few days.

I do but not many and not on PC, Ive got a good shot of Scott Kings TTA AE82 race car engine bay which has been built to the same specs as it raced back in the day. The 4AGE in both the AE82 and 92 were almost exactly the same infact Scott 's is based on the 100 kw motor. I'll post a shot of it here for you, It was built by the same guy that put together the AE82/92 and 86 4age's.
putting out around 150kw!

I see 100kW manifold, aftermarket injectors, fuel rail and fuel lines, modified radiator and cooling system, headers, no air intake sensors indicating aftermarket computer setup, still trying to suss out the stainless box infront of the clutch master, trying to figure what the lines are for and where they would go... Hmmm...

I think thats part of the steering set up it uses a power steering rack which is quicker lock to lock than a manual rack but runs no pump so its there for the hydrolic fluid.

Do you have any other pics you can post up of the AE92 TTA FXGT's or better a pic of the engine bay or interiors

Even if it is quick pic of the bonnet up in the pits from a distance :P

verry keen for pics like that.

Sorry, what I've got left are mainly TTA AE82 shots all the outher pics I've got of the AE92's are in books and my scanner's dead, going to look at one this weekend. As soon as I get one I'll scan all the TTA stuff I'VE got and post them on this site.

Sorry to hijack but is that true for all corolla power steer racks? If so how much quicker is it? I have a power rack ready to go in the racecar and if it's quicker lock to lock I wont need to look for a reducer box..

Thanks

Probably not as good as some of the other pics, but here's some:

Don't quote me on the ratio's someone might know better but I think the manual rack is about 4.1 turns lock to lock and the power rack is about 3.7 I had manual steer in my twincam and changed it to power and noticed the difference. The bloke that ownes the TTA car told me about the pumpless power steer rack in the car, But I'm also sure back in the day there was a quick rack also available from TRD. Hope my AE82 dosn't end up in your hands I'd hate to see it die that way.Ha Ha.. :P

Power steering models also have smaller steering knukle that inrease steering responce.

My bad on the pitman arm

Frist up, great pics, keep em coming

So these cars run a power steering rack that wasn't power assisted? I'd say tou ditch that whaole hydraulic system all together - it won't do anything if there is no pump, except slow the car down form the weight.

With that in mind, I'd say the stainless box in front of the clutch master is an underbonnet surge tank - quite common for space saving, but I don't know whay you'd bother in an all out race car.

Bway - Pitman arms on a rack and pinnion steering setup  Theres only a pinnon gear, rack, tie rods and steering knucles. Thats the order that things connect to from the steering coloumn to the strut.

Reticulating ball sterring system's use a pitman arm. They have a steering box that connects to the pitman arm. The pitman arm has a similar passive (or idle) link on the other side of the engine bay called the idler arm. These are connected by a drag link, with the drag link connecting to the tierods and finally steering knuckles.
