I'm really tired, I'll put something more useful up soon. Meanwhile, discuss.

ferraris got no chance of winning as they dont have one consistent point scoring driver. 8 points massa,0 points kimi last round, now opposite this round. alonso and lewis are scoring consistently. even an average race from alonso (stuck behind ralf most ofthe time) gained him 4 points.

in term of the internal rift at mcclarens, my view is alonso signed on with a view of being a leader, reigning double world champion. lewis, top talent but a rookie nonetheless, should show some respect. i think favour should be shown to alonso. look at other team sports, the rookie challenges for a spot in the side but ultimately the vetren playmaker makes the call. he makes the buzzer beater, while the support guy plays decoy/clear the path for a clean shot. the rookie can always go to another team if he thinks he can lead.

this doesnt mean lewis shouldnt win. but i think he should stop being so cocky, he should accept hes the no. 2 in reality, shut up and do his job. dont get me wrong, alonso is a dirty cheater with his antics but as per my view above hes still team leader.

I dont think Hamilton is being cocky at all. Alsonso before the race, during a interview said that if he wins "no one will catch me". I would have to say, that is being cocky.

Hamilton is as good, if not better than Alonso, in my opinion. He is head strong enough to come out in his first season, and challenge the current world champion. Technically, he is on par with the world champion, I dont see why he has to play second fiddle and dance around Alonso. If anything, Alonso should act like a world champion, and prove himself on the course, rather than getting tangled in little fits that damage not only his team, but supposedly the sport.

good race, but not enough crashes. had webber done a 2 stop strategy instead of 3 he'd have come 7th.

well it is the real reason he won it last yr....but if above statement was accurate, he'd have a few wins tucked under his belt by now.

I felt webber was stronger than 9th too; 3-stopper screwed him out of some more points, very disappointing.

I say let teh in-fighting & ego's fly! it keeps the s##t interesting between rounds; I can sense a punch-on :box: before seasons end @ macca's. Ive never been an Alonso fan & as good as Hamilton certainly is, he is a head-strong little prick and it would s##t me to tears too if he came in trying to steal my thunder. Young punks! no respect these days haha LoL not that Alonso i old at 26. kinda makes feel futile & useless at the same age.... :wallbash:

Raikonnen FTW.....

Some interesting comments guys. The most interesting thing I found about Hamilton was he was able to keep his skill under wraps and almost be "out of sight out of mind" until the media caught on. Then even on the track people don't usually expect much from a rookie, and he used this to his advantage to suprise everyone including his team mate Alonso.

His confidence shows through in his driving style and now, this far into the season, it is beginning to show through in his interviews. I think for now no one has yet found his weakness, or if they have they haven't been able to use it against him yet.

I've been studying his technique and style and I think I might have pinpointed only one real flaw, he is confident that the car will do what he wants it to do and that it all happens the way he wants it. But when things go haywire for him, when things don't go his way, he becomes frustrated - determined - but frustrated. Case example when he spun off in Germany, I've never seen a driver leave the engine running knowing they can re-join the race. Then we he did re-join he was violently overtaking people.

Either way he has - and will - make for some excellent viewing in F1. I just want to see Ferrari step up their game, Massa's performance has been sub-par for this year and Raikonnen is not being consistent enough. He is however doing a fantastic job of playing the "iceman" at the moment, if this year doesn't turn up interesting, next year certainly should be with Prodrive joining the circus.

of course alonso is feeling gibbed. while im sure the contract wouldnt say that 'you will be lead driver of the team', im sure thats what dennis would've brought up during negotiations. 'ur the 2 time champ, we have a rookie as ur partner coming up'. surely that played a part in him signing on.

as for lewis, he is talanted, but if u put scott speed in a mclaren im sure he'll do much better too....

mclaren should sign button on so they have have their pom loving orgies together.

alonso is still very capable of winning the championship. i hope he does, to rub it in.

perfect point oakmont..

my main gripe with hamilton is that he's so go damn cocky and thinks that because he has won a few races in his first season (congrats to him on that) but he has little respect for the teams orders and his co-driver especially after this last weekend.

alonso should be the one who is staying in the team and hamilton being given the option to lead.. i'd like to see who would be willing to sign him out of the other big teams after his show on the weekend just doing what he thought was best and not following the teams orders at the start of the qualifying session...

I disagree. Hamilton has been extraordinarily fast and consistent. Sure he is in a top car, but when massa had his first season with ferrari he was nowhere near as fast or consistent as schumacher, whereas Hamilton is whipping Alonso eight ways from sunday. Yeah the wins might be getting to his head a bit, but he shouldn't have to submit to Alonso just cos he is the "rookie". If he is faster then he should be allowed to win. nuff said.

Ferrari had better win this season
