I'm also going to be getting a few official Toyota workshop manuals too. An E58 gearbox manual, a C51/C52 gearbox manual, an AE101 manual of some description (hopefully it's the one with wiring diagrams, I missed the other manual), a Levin sales brochure (so I can see what options I still need to get), some lock rings for my coilovers and a set of sunvisors, with the mirror on the drivers side :) So now I'll have mirrors on both sides. Why? Just because I can.

If y'all treat me nice, I might even scan the manuals and post them up. I can even OCR the Japanese text for machine translation too. :)

Yahoo Japan. A goldmine of JDM parts :)

As soon as they arrive, I'll get onto it.

if u kno any tricks to decipher the yahoo japan site, let me know.. i think its the only way i can find a plinth

Just got the car back from the exhaust shop.

Previously (before christmas) I had them install a 2.5" cat back exhaust, which split at the rear to two 2.5" mufflers in the same pattern as the stock system. Problem is, they put a hot dog resonator in instead of the straight through oval muffler/resonator I requested. The result was a droning, buzzy, way loud exhaust that was a pain to drive with.

I got them to replace the hot dog resonator with the oval straight through muffler, and the results so far are fantastic. There's no drone, the car doesn't sound like a Honda and it's at a bearable level, without being too quiet.

It also seems to go a bit better. That might be placebo, but the neighbour also commented to the same effect.

Either way, I'm happy. :D
All I have to do now, is take it down the freeway and see if I get the pulsing effect from the twin pipes. If so, I'll just get one rear muffler swapped with a larger one so the exhaust notes differ enough as to prevent the interference thing happening. So far so good though.

:)

I am hoping to cancel out the drone between 100km/h & 110km/h when my exhaust comes in! I saw your water jets intercooler sprayer guide, very nice, id love to see you hammer past and for someone to take a photo of them in action, it would look really cool :)

Big, straight through center mufflers is the key. Waaaay better than cheap useless resonators. I'll be heading to Toowoomba way this weekend, so I'll see how sustained highway driving is then.

Would have to be a good photographer for that photo, the sprayers are right in the scoop... Would make a cool photo with the right angle though. :)

Nope, I just posted in the wrong build up thread like the tard I am. The exhaust is on the GTZ.

Too many cars, too many threads.

[Ninja edit] Just put the stuff in the right thread...

Oh, I also installed a water sprayer for the top mount intercooler on the GTZ, documented here:

http://www.twincam.i...topic=43402&hl=

Plus I've swapped the rims from the GT-Apex to the GTZ (looks way hot now, photos soon) and set the camber to all be 2.0 deg with an awesome iPhone camber/caster app.

I'll be looking at getting some softer springs for the rear coilovers too. It's a bit hard at the moment...

Just fully reset the rear coilovers, now they're not all bouncy and ghey. It actually rides nicely without trying to panel beat the roof with my skull....

With the camber set all round to 2.0 Deg, it now just sticks, and goes wherever I point it. A bit of handbrake to entice the back end somewhat sideways and plant the power to snap it back in. The car feels far more confident than when I was using the stock suspension.

I'll see how it goes in the next few days. :)

Pictures.

Still needs paint, tyres, bodykit (I pulled the old front bar off as it was falling to bits, I got a new one ready to go on), plus a heap of other stuff, including a wash. Oh, and the rear spoiler is getting refitted this weekend too.

etc. etc. etc.

It's sitting on my shelf. :) One of 100 made, so I'm looking after it.
Plus it looks odd on the stock length shifter. It'll look better with a short shifter (when I get around to it..)

Close, im assuming u read my wanted thread..

I was actually after a sportivo but they either had too many ks or was out of my budget. So i opted for a zze122 2002 levin. Yes i know its not really a levin its just a badge, but it was in my price range with only 50k on the clock so it has to do for the time being. Eventually I will return to the jdm scene, I plan to import a couple of vehicles my self early next year, one of which i plan to be an ae101 or ae111.. the other is a turbo and will remain anonymous for now.

Yeah John told me you were looking for an ae111!
My friend just picked up a clean 99 bzr with 77xxx for about 11g down the coast.

Yeah I'm keen for a turbo car. Need to wait till I finish uni

And Jared, your car is looking good :) hit up the next jdm meet

I am getting tempted to make a thread on my car guys seeing all the comments & opinions & ideas & advice you all seem to be getting!

I will sit down over the next few days and get to it maybe, find photos from the start to now... Should've done it all along >.<

I'm running an Excedy HD organic at the moment. It's been pretty good so far. I couldn't tell you the cost as I got it second hand.
