Once again this season has given us some excellent racing and a stunning finish. Kimi takes the win with Hamilton dropping out of the race after getting bogged down in a (somewhat mysterious) gravel trap near the pits. Big congrats to Sebastian Vettel for finishing 4th, an excellent result for the former Minardi crew at Toro Rosso.

So with one race to go here are the top 3 in the championship

Hamilton 107
Alonso 103
Raikkonen 100

Brazil is gonna be on helluva race :)

Ouch, harsh, be careful what you wish for. But deep down I sort of agree, winning the championship in your rookie year of F1 just makes it cheap. This is the pinnacle of motorsport, you cannot move up from here.

We shall see :) race is on now...

[EDIT]: Anyone remember Coulthard at Adelaide in 1995? It was the first thing to jump to mind :)

man where'a Shumi when you need him too take out Hamilton LoL! maybe Ralf can do it for us all instead.
Lewis doesnt deserve it fullstop! regardless of it being his 1st season; he is a dirty, sneaky little prick. pity Alonso is still in the hunt; or he would do the dirty on him. But if he does then he'd be out too & Kimi would clean up; id love that but its not gonna happen. Massa to take out both Macca's in a late-braking 'mistake' hahahaha

China was a great race, plenty of overtaking and wheel-to-wheel action. Wet races are SO much more exciting...

Why is it that every time I go anywhere on the internet, someone somewhere is hoping for Hamilton to crash/die/lose? Hamilton bashing bandwagon anyone?

What's all this crap about Hamilton not deserving the title? Too easy? I m sorry, last time I checked he was the rookie driver, sticking it too more senior drivers, leading the title chase to prove it. And this nonsense about being handed the easy ride. Alonso has the exact same car (well, to a point anyway) and still can't the catch the rookie is 1 out of 2 races. He did domaniate almost every category he was in before F1, so would think the McLaren seat is more than earned...

Alonso was the one being dirty only a few rounds ago (running Hamilton off the track comes to mind) and throws tandums, but no, let's let this guy win 'cos he a better driver for not being as good as Hamilton, because he deserves it. China was the first time Hamilton DNF'd and that was partly due to the engineers making a mistake, to which Hamilton apologized.

So he has a bit of an ego, but its not every day you get a driver come out and beat the reining world champion... Hes young, rich, famous and a better driver than most of us will ever be. Hes Dad worked hard for his son to be where he is. I for one will be cheering for Hamilton.

^ Well said. I too am suprised that there are many who dislike Hamilton, I stated myself that the sole reason I would not like to see him win (this year) is that it feels cheap. I certainly think he earned everything he's done and he does show tremendous skill and determination. He does come across as a bit over-confident but that his way of dealing with it, at least it makes a perfect contrast to Raikkonen's ice cold attitude. It's Top Gun all over again.

Anyway whichever way it goes I'll be happy, as a fan of F1 in general it has made for some excellent viewing this year and I am more than happy with the way things have turned out considering the emptyness that Schumacher left behind. Even if Lewis wins it this year doesn't mean he will next year, it's one thing to win a WC, it's another to maintain it.

Bring on Brazil!

anyone who drives the best and fastest car will win, rookie or not. most rookies start at the lower end of the scale. that doesn't make them crap drivers.

You nubs. He does have a fast car, but alonso, a double world champion mind you, has the exact same car. And Hamilton has totally creamed him this year. The McLaren scandal has tainted this championship somewhat, and I am a born and bred ferrari supporter, but if Hamilton winning means Alonso losing, then I'm all for it. I don't care who wins so long as it isnt alonso, that lecherous, two timing, disloyal, egotistical faggot.

Does a car drive the driver now? If you take Jensen (ITV commentator's love child) and put him into a McLaren, I would bet a large sum of money they'd be the first to make excuses for him not being any faster.

I love all the comments that sing along the lines of "Oh, but if you put Webber into a McLaren/Ferrari he'd be up there". So Massa, Kimi, Alonso and Hamilton just sit in the cars do they? A good example would be to look at Renault, recent winners now struggling, the difference? The drivers ofcourse. Bring on the flames.

No flames here Beams; that last statement is right on! it certainly is coincidence that Renault are languishing mid pack this season without a real driver.
Although I do believe that some of the Vettel's and maybe Sutil's of the world; could pedal a Ferrari or the like as well as the current drivers or close to it. But definatley Alonso is top class and Lewis has proven that he is capable of making him and the others look pretty ordinary. His balls-out approach to overtaking is unbelievable. I dont like him much, but would rather he win than Alonso - just.....

There is no doubt that Hamilton is a good driver, but the second coming he is not. Lewis shot ahead in the championship early in the season when
the big names were struggling for various reasons. Since about halfway through the season he has shown that he is, at least for the time being
unworthy. In fine weather with a trouble free car and free track ahead he excells. Throw in some rain, a bit of traffic, some competion and small
car drama's (Bad tyre choice etc) he shows his inexperience compared to Kimi and Alonso.
Add to all that the favouritism I believe he recieves from a British team and British press in what is essentially a British sport. Officials and the
media would love another Nigel Mansell, Jackie Stuart or Stirling Moss. It has been far too long since a Briton as dominated.
