well well just before i stacked it last week i had her over in nt on a outback highway (fresh tar for just over 4kms) noone around so i went up to the end and back checked their was noone i would be endagering and i set off the straight was nearly10kms long so i thought yeah plenty of run off if i was to overshoot (put up my own lil notification of to when i had to slow down)

so my across was stock 91 and red cos reds faster and all sprockets are original so is chain it had stock exstractors to a 2.5" pipe to a 3.5" cannon nice deep note a lil tinny up high
Note* tuning had taken place before exhaust

okay enough suspense my speed recorded for that run was off the clock i would have to say if i guessed it was around the 195-200kmh mark this was in 6th on valve bounce (i get bounce at around 17'800rpm) so it was going all out

just thought you guys might want to know what they are capable of.
cant wait to get her fixxed now

and i also advise people not to travel at these speeds this was done in a completely dead place i was their after the run checking everything and regaining the feel in my arse for 15mins and not 1 car came thru in all the time

Nice! U know what did it feel pretty stable for you as well? For me I didnt feel her pulling or wobbling at all, it was awesome!!

On the aftermarket smaller front sprocket that came with my 95 across when i bought it, coming back from woolongong on the F6, I have had mine @ 200-210. I ended up changing the sprocket size because the low end was a bit sluggish. It was funny tho cause when she hit about 14k rpm the pull felt like a mini turbo haha. I've tryed mounting some sorf of camera on my bike a couple of times but I gave up after sending a mobile flying off into a million pieces down the road.

But yeah since i got the larger sprocket she sits 2 around 17k at 180, but in return the off the mark acceleration is still enough to put a smirk on yer face

Is this a suzuki across????!!!!??????

Sorry, i'd need to see it to believe it. Just never had anyone able to go over 165 on the across so i'm just not sure it can really top out at 200 klicks!!!
Having said that, if u managed to get an across up to those speeds, than it sounds like you've got the most sorted out across i've ever run into.

Takes a while but she got there :) I dont think I could get those speed ever again unless I downsized to the same sprocket that was on it when bought.

Edit: and just about to come off a 9 month suspension, I'm guessing I never will try again haha!

Neither does mine atm, but i think that's down to tuning and a tired engine. Still, 200 seems really steep.

i took my across out for a ride out in the wild west

out to tarana out near oberon

anyone that has been out there will know of the road from oberon out tarana and heading back towards lithgow

the road rides like a roller coaster , it climbs up, crests and drops right down

wound out through each gear , watched the speedo drive past 185, flew past bigger bikes without the balls to hang on ;) , couldnt watch the speedo anymore as had to watch the road , but suffice to say it kept pulling and would have wound off the clock easily

on a flat road though they dont do much more than 165

man I tell u what I've got some epic cobwebs to blow outa this bike. I'll take some pics over the weekend while fuggin around with it.

Then she goes in for a full tune etc at the end of next week and come out on tuesday just in time to get to the registry and take her for a welcome run on the 26th in the evening after work. If I wasnt a contractor on a daily rate, I woulda taken the day off and cruised down the coast :lol2:

Go out to the Hay Plains. Flat as a pancake, straights that go for miles and bugger all traffic if any.

Umm I managed about 175 on mine when I had her, and she was in perfect tune and meticulously maintained.

Saying that though... The Acrsoos speedo is not that accurate at much above 110kmh ;-)

Oh and my Across had a ORP (Over Racing Performance) straight through can with polished (interior) extractors and tuned to match. Heheh she was one sweet gal ;-)

This is pants. My bike has done around 35000 kms. new oil and filter every 5000 kms. And it will only get to 150 before it redlines in 6th. It does have more to give but dont really want to blow it up going that fast.
