Paint looks imac. The spotless front bar is also another good indication of the quality of the paint and careful owners over the years.

Just need to give the wheels a good clean and a little buff.

Shitty idle? Bad fuel economy? Disconnect it and see if the car runs better? Whats making you think its f##ked?

Just that it was missing a nut when i changed the manny cover, and the wires look dodgy, when i give it some in 1st, 2nd, 3rd it blows some smoke the goes away also i put some paper behind the car and gave it a rev and i sprayed the paper with black s##t!!. But doesnt it need replacing after a while anyways?

When i fill up next im gonna give it premium fuel and injector cleaner.

Was it oily residue on the paper?

Most of them blow a bit of black crap from running a wee bit rich, BUT when you start getting black spots on the rear bar that smear when you wash them then you know for sure its burning oil.

If thats the case, something I always found handy to get the oil spots off the rear bar, was dishwashing detergent! normal car wash has trouble dealing with the oil (tends to smear it around) so a bit of Dishwashing detergent cuts through it and gets it off. Works well for BBQ splatter too!

EDIT: Im also pretty sure it will throw an error code if the O2 sensor is rooted.

found this in another thread in the engine section-
21 O2 sensor

* Open/short in heater circuit of oxygen sensor for 0.5 seconds
* Amplitude of O2 sensor reduced to 0.35-0.70V continuously for more than 60 seconds

Agree about the washing detergent for heavy oil build up, normal car wash just doesn't do the job. Although I've never had to use it on the car, it worked a charm on my alloys when both of my CV boots cracked (messy). I'd recommend giving he surface a once over with normal car wash though once you've finished, for the anti corrosive properties.

yer thats what i thought oo, that it was running a bit rich, So in the end your all saying ym o2 sensor is aokay???

Is there anything i can do to make ir run more lean or less rich, or is this just what smallports run like??

Most I have come accross all blow smoke when you are really up them.

I rebuilt the smallport in Karlies seca 6000kms ago, and I noticed it was blowing black puffs when she changes gears whilst revving the tits off it (with me putting along behind her in other cars lol)

I wouldnt really worry about the O2 sensor, If it shits itself all together you will know about it, but if the car idles fine and doesnt seem to have any other dramas, Id say its doing its job well enough not to warrant replacing.

yeh okay the idles is fine been told in the winter that idle high in the morning due to the cold. is this right or do i have a s##t mechanic??

But yer if i see the idle being wacky its in for a new sensor. Bloody toyota and there distrubutors. they have to be the only ones that dont use pins for the gear on the shaft of the distrubutor. But meh my car is blocking the the whole carport as i rolled it forward to get the timming in tdc.

trd quickshifter $305, current toyota corolla mats $92.

I go to court tomorrow wish me luck.

You should file down the lettering on the covers like everyone else - looks 1000 times better.
