Hello all. Well sold my old rolla (the weber'd 6AFC) almost 6 months ago and since i sold it, i got this:

Posted Image

Bought it end of January and just made it in my driveway a couple weeks back. :D

Got a few things i need to do before i get it rego'd.

Engine pic, believe it or not:

Posted Image

Now before everyone complains, it is the 2nd motor (some people are too cheap :/)

Front end pic:

Posted Image

Needs some TLC...but 3-fin bumper signals a series 1 FXGT front bar...

Finally its registered after some things for compliance was a pain. But its going well, can't wait for an exhaust, some cams and finish the stereo and interior.

Might be looking for a new front and rear bar, the current ones are shite, but they're hanging on.

Cheers!

Hahaha, was bound to posted up sooner or later, but had a few people come around to look at it on the weekend and was just soooo amazed at it. I LOVE IT!!

Won't be looking for another, wish i had money for a half-cut, but works out better if i get the bluetop running healthy again.

Yeah, first owner of it, got an importer to import it for me, never doing that ever again though, it was a bi*ch!

Excellent to see another FXGT in the country, all the best with it. Basically had to do the same thing with my 86model AE82 FXGT.

Cheers for the comments!

Yeah, you can say i've been stooged twice now with my AE92s, First one with a 6AF, now i get a bluetop...sigh

Engine will be out next week to get the crank seal fixed, and hopefully they will tidy up the wiring while they're at it, just looks really messy.

Engine out? It's easy to do with it in. Unless this is -another- crank seal..

if the wirings all over the joint that's because they have put the bluetop in and gone ohh fuck it the old motor ran some other sensors etc - not to hard to iron out - and no idea why you' be sad with a bigport

All late 80's ae92's (from jdm land) came with bigports, but to my knowledge they were all the newer stronger redtops.
Map Sensored, ofcourse.

this thread http://www.twincam.i...showtopic=18712
as well as a few others which have all quoted the bluetop at around 93ish kw

edit; maybe the jdm bluetop had more power than the adm one??

I am not sure myself at which one, which seal are you talking about here? The one i'm thinking is the one coming off the crank timing pulley, so all that pulley and timing belt side of things need to be removed to access which there is no room at all if you look at the engine bay pic.

They do door trims too? Was gonna go into all car upholstery to see if they can make new ones for me. On the other hand, my door seals (rubber surroundings) might need replacing as well, leakage coming in from the drivers side windows last time i went to wash the car.

About time for the pistons, when you getting them fitted?

Yes, the only difference in the bluetop (JDM vs ADM) is the ECU, which you have mentioned ADM = 86kw ; JDM = 92ish kw.

Its not that i'm not happy with a bluetop, it just happens to be the 'base' model 4AGE...But i'm happy, at least i have a 4AGE now!

Correct. I've heard figures of 96kw for the JDM AE86 bigports, but that can never be trusted. Every single piece of official Toyota documentation for the ADM bluetops says 86kw though.

nope and nope. Its an aftermarket knob by the previous owner, and so are the speakers, planning for pods to replace them.

It's well hidden, you have to know what your looking for otherwise you won't see it...

If you ever put a central locking button in the OEM spot just right of the steering wheel, I'll take that coin pocket thing :P
