I thought I'd Christen the new section of the forum by leading on from the post that suggested it.

From experience what is the best tyre shine you have used, given value, results, longevity and finish.

I have gone through many many tyre shines and keep coming back to Eagle One in the spray bottle. I get a high gloss finish, it lasts a few weeks and at $20 a bottle, last me quite a few months with regular washing.

I've used the Meguires and find it gives a better finish and smells yummy, however a bit pricey for how long it lasts.

In saying that, the cheap $4 cans at the supermarket (Export?) are the BFYB if you’re on a budget.

Can't remember exactly since i bought it a while ago now, probably between $20-$30. Doubt i'd spend any more than that on tyre shine.

I've used the Endurance and at the moment using the "Nxt Generation Insane Shine Tyre Spray"...

Endurance I found sexy results, but was difficult at times to apply it as it got everywhere...

The Insane Shine Tyre Spray didn't last quite as long but much much much longer than any other Tyre Spray I've seen/used and its an aerosol so easy to apply for those quick Norwest Car Splash and Dash to the meet =P

yeah ive used both of those too

the NXT spray is insane....i did the tyres on my old mans Pajero and i could see myself in them....only problem is that it doesnt last as long

Endurance is what i use now, takes a bit more time to apply and can get messy so i would suggest keeping your sponge (or whatever you choose to apply it with) in a plastic bag. It also lasts ages, especially if you keep the same sponge as the sponge adsorbs the gel so after awhile you dont need to use much at all.

I just buy 20litre drums of the stuff the tyre shops (Wurth usually I think) use from their suppliers, fill up squirt bottles and away you go, spray on, wipe off excess and you are done.

i hate tyre shine. it always sprays over the car and dirt sticks to it.. looks horrible

best way i have found to apply it is by using citric degrease and high pressure hose to blast away any dirt and grime. then drying it extremely well and applying Maguires endurance using a clean rag or sponge

depends how much you apply, most tyre joints will pile it on, so when you drive off down the road, tyre shine ends up on the car, dirt meets tyre shine and you get big black speckles up the paintwork (not the fun kind from rubber though)

If the tyres are clean and dry, and the tyre shine is applied in a correct amount (wiping off the excess with a nice clean rag helps too) then let it sit for a while in the sun, should stop it flying off all over your paintwork.

to avoid overspray squirt the stuff onto a sponge or cloth and apply it with that

Endurance can also do that if you apply too much or dont let it dry

Just a side note, dont ever spray tyre shine or anything like it near something you are planning to paint in the near future.

Silicon dots are a pain in the arse.

QFT

HOW ANNOYING IS IT!

Also annoying when you have degreaser it prior, but didn't let the 'greaser sit for 5 mins

sigh.

Does anyone know what the stuff is that car dealers use, it's black and gets on clothes pretty well !

My car still has it on, tyres still look so good.

No idea what it is

guise while we are on the topic of clean tyres.. anyone have suggestions for the rims themselves? i have chromes (yes laugh away) but they get rediculously dirty and attract all the dirt it can find.. i have no idea why..

ive used those chrome cleaner sprays before... but is there something that cleans and also somehow gives it a layer of protection so it doesnt get dirty so quickly again? cos when they are clean u see ur face, a day later theres a thick layer of dust/dirt all over it.. and when it rains its even worse =/

i polish mine with Meguiars metal polish....purple tub with green lid....wipe that on and then wipe it off, you will see all the dirt and nasty stuff come off on your cloth

as anything its probably best to test it first on a small spot

Love the meguires Tyre Shine as it has an adjustable nozzle... So spraying on a R35 tyre is much easier ;)

And it smells awesome
