then ended up bikeless for quite a while
now I sorta decided I needed another one ... I tried to find something as good as the across ( I cant believe every bike doesnt have a boot ) If I took out the toolkit under the seat on this I still dont think I could fit in a pack of smokes

That looks like the same bike my old man had before he got his new R1.
If i recall right, they are the same motor as an R1, just detuned and with no injection, more of a touring bike?

The detuning makes it rather friendly in slow moving traffic, the R1 engine means it goes from nice to naughty in a heartbeat and the upright position means it can be ridden all day without needing a spine realignment
So that sorta covers all the bases as far as im concerned
and the optional full fairing kit just finishes the bike of nicely

Strangely enough it is exactly the same year and colour that I had previously. It's a Red 94 model with onlt 27K on the clock. I would post a pic but no idea how to do that!
Feels good to be back on a real bike again. I have been riding a Piaggio X8 scooter for the past two years. The scooter recently had a disagreement with some tram tracks and was written off as a result. So I thought that I would go back to the across as it is a perfect comuter for me.
So now I have a reason to be back here again.

The scooter choice was based purely on storage to be honest. It had 60 litres under the seat. I also thought it might be more comfortable but strangely it wasn't.
Damage to me was minor bruises to hip and shoulder. Note to everyone - wear good gear!!!

I always wear long trousers and jacket ALWAYS
dont care if its 40 degrees , having hit the dirt a few times I always cringe when I see someone riding a bike in a pair of shorts and a tshirt
