Here are the wiring colours for various Models of Toyota/Corolla etc. If you have any to add, make doubly sure it's correct and post it up!



If you need to trace out your own wiring, Here's how to do it:

You need just a multimeter and a AA battery. You can trace out the entire stereo wiring with these two things. smile.gif

Use the multimeter on voltage to find +12v with everything off. This is your constant supply.
Now, turn on your headlights and find another wire with +12v, switch the lights on and off to confirm. This is your illumination for auto dimming/illumination. (not all cars have this)
Flick the ignition to ACC and do the same, this will be your power on or accessories wire.

Now for the AA battery. The remaining wires will include the speaker wires and possibly a wire for the aerial/crossovers/whatever is fitted etc.
The speaker wires will usually be grouped in pairs somewhat, so using the AA battery, touch it between pairs of wires until you hear a pop from a speaker. If you look at the speaker, and it pops outwards, the + on the battery is the + wire on the speaker. (reversed if the speaker pops inwards).

Continue until you find all the speakers. If there is any left, it's usually that aerial wire etc.
