Had a quick Google and found nothing. Heaps of tarmac rallly AW11'a but no off road rally cars.
A while ago i owned a 87 S/C AW11 and found it to be quite the weapon in the loose stuff.
Mabey people think it might be a bit unstable and the snap oversteer that they are known for might be a bit much, but the tarmac rally cars dont seem to have a problem.
I would think the extra grip from the RWD and weight over the back wheels would make it a very compedative in a 2WD class.
What do you guys think. Do you know of any? or am I just looking in the wrong places?

The up to 1600 cc class is what they fall into and can be very good in any form of Motorsport. For the record the AW11 was designed and built for 1 thing only...... and it wasn't so Toyota had another 2 door coupe to sell to hairdressers. The AW11 was only ever built by Toyota to go Rallying back in the 80's as a Group "B" Super car, with a 2 litre Turbocharged engine and allwheel drive. It like many other Group "B" cars were meant to make their debut the following year after Group "B" was cancelled by the FAI. There is still 1 prototype in existance in Japan at a Toyota museum that I know of. I have a few more pix of the 1 above after am MR2 day in Japan at this Museum. Will post as I can find them.

Another considerration is that it's very difficult to build a cage for the AW11 that will qualify for CAMS sign-off as you need to run the rear runners to the strut towers though the rear window and Lexan rear windscreens are illegal in most competition classes.

You pointed out my other problem which is the roll cage. I have been doing some reserch in the CAM's manual and a a quick glance I dident see anything about the cage actually having to go the strut towers but it might be there. But either way I thing it would be quite a task to fit one anyway.
The other thing is if I actually crashed one, even with a cage there is not to take a decent impact like a tree at 150+.
Also did the aussie AW11 come with a big-port or small-port motor?

I believe that the CAMS regulations state that it is ideal for the rear supports from the roll hoop to be at around a 60 degree angle to the plane of the hoop (ie 30 degrees down from perpendicular) I'm sure they allow a range to accomodate structural differences of different cars, but bolting to the firewall of the AW11 the supports fall far lower than 30 degrees, much closer to 45.
