Hey fellas,

I just bought my first corolla a few weeks back so i decided to join this website.

Its a 1990 seca sx with the 4age red top engine. picked it up cheap and with a little cleaning and servicing... its come up looking pretty clean i think.
It loves to rev to 7000 easy and will be thinking of modifying it NA no turbos or anything like that..

Its my daily to work. I've just put a new 2 1/4 full exhaust and superlow king springs.
mainly worked on the stereo.

Cheers! ooh I'm in south east melbourne so if anyone wants to cruise sometime, let me know..

Chris

Appears well looked after and very tasteful choice of wheels. I suggest just keeping it as tidy as you can - get everything working as it should be (if it isn't) and it will treat you well. Extractors will help with the regular oil filter changes, if you didn't replace the engine pipe and cat I recommend doing this if you can at some stage, a lot of people don't and the flat pipe and old cat can eat up some of the power. If you want a little nicer sound from the intake, replace the hose with intake resonator on it with a same diameter flex pipe. Keep the stock airbox, don't bother with a pod, just get a good filter for it.

yeah everythings fine except for the temp sensor goes up and down a lot.. i think its an electrical problem because the car runs smooth and not over heating. Yes the cat needs replacing and ive already done the front straight pipe. buying the high flow one now. i am taking the intake resonator out this weekend. if u know where to get extractors let me know. thanks for the advise!

You can either fit some 20 valve headers which are cheap enough but will need a new flange on the engine pipe. Keep any eye on ebay, they pop up all the time.

In regards to the temp gauge going up and down, have you checked your cooling system to make sure it doesn't have any air trapped? Air will read as "high" on the 4AGE temp sensor.

yep! done that already because we checked the thermostat to see if that was the problem.. does it cost much to mod the extractors?

people say just weld up one of the holes then redrill?
does the flange that connects to the exhaust fit straight on?
your help would be great.

wheels i got secondhand and bought new tyres. sold them already for 750 last week. i'd rather the stock low look.
yeah there nice cars.. but a bit slow i think.. dont get me wrong, they rev hard and smooth but just too slow for my liking :/
