The PM you got is likely from the former mods who abused the system so bad when they left it had to be shut down. Please use email or SMS as it is more efficient. I'm sorry to say that the PM system will not be restored due to abuse.

I would usually take this to PM but.. well, :P

Saying that the PM system will not be restored "because of abuse" doesn't really make sense any more. The old forum crowd have moved on and from what I know, don't have any interest in this forum any more. There seem to be some new members joining up here as well so everyone's happy* and has moved on. The old forum people seem happy enough with their clique and twincam.org..au.us lives on as it has done for many many years (hell, I think I joined up the first time close to 10 years ago now :o )

To say that the PM system - a system that any forum user expects to have available - will not be restored looks much more like its either A) A fit of adolescent pique, seeking to set people against the former mods or B ) Some kind of little-mans-forum syndrome, feeling insecure that there might be another car forum :o on the internet that might also have people who know about Corollas, its not like they are a niche car, ffs, Toyota has sold over 35 million of them.

I'm not making a value judgment about what happened with the change of ownership and who is to blame for everything that ensued and I'm not going to get into an argument about what happened, or who said what to who, or who poked their tongue out first and so on, its been done, build a bridge, and to be perfectly honest about it, I don't care.

* Well I said "everyone's happy", if nothing else they're less unhappy than before - tbh, they should htfu, its the internet, not, you know, something that matters. To pick but one of the very, very long list of things that I think do matter: the equivalent of the entire population of Australia homeless in Pakistan because of the floods and that not to talk about the billions of people who live on less than $2USD a day and so on.

tl;dr version: Re-enable PMs, leaving them disabled makes everyone look childish.
