Hi.

This is my new car which im planning on turning into a nice daily driver as time and money allows.

picked it up for $300 from someone who said the engine was on its way out. took it home drain 12! litres of oil out of it, found oil every where and anywhere around the engine bay.
changed the plugs, filters, plug leads and unplugged the Air FLow Meter and it drove like a brand new car. The car is very clean inside and out, with only some cracks showing on the drivers door trim.

So far ive spent about $1000 on it which included rego, new suspension, brakes, engine mounts, thermostat and rocket cover gaskets.
recently brought bigger driveshafts and a inbetween shaft to make the shafts the same lenght to elimiate tourqe steer .

plans for the future are:
New Clutch as its begginning to slip
16 inch wheels
and in the far future possibly a 20V 4age.

Nice ride for a bargain price, the story of regarding the huge amount of oil in the engine reminds me when I was working at Repco.

A lady came in asking for some oil for her car, she mentioned that she just needed a quick top up, so I told her to use the 1 L bottle. She insisted that the car was very low on oil and that the 5 L one was necessary.

I saw the Lady of 5 L oil and she went to her car to start topping up the oil. Five minutes later a lady comes back in asking for more oil, at this point I was scratching my head as I was sure that Lady bought 5 L of oil off me.

I mentioned to the lady that even 1 L to two litres would be more than enough, yet she insisted that the oil level was still not at the top. I mentioned to the lady that there was a measuring stick designed to check the oil level and that she was hoping the oil would be full once it hit the top of the oil cap hhahaha.

I can highly recommend doing 20 valve conversion, I did this conversion about three years ago and found the engine to be very fiun indeed.

haha yeah some people arnt very smart. my idea for the 12 litres of oil is the oil pressure guage, it looks like a oil level gugae and sits about half way when running, so maybe they looked at that and throught it was only half full of oil?

ive put a new clutch in it and changed a few more litle things in the engine and brought better tyres and brake pads. and the old girl is awesome to drive now.

i really like toyota....But this updated Prius C isn’t quite so hip, although I do like the way the Prius C is shaping up compared to the conventional Prius. Perhaps aerodynamic drag demanded a more Prius-like final product if the best fuel economy was to be achieved, but I’m not convinced this design can speak the language of the Y segment.
