Hey, anyone still frequent these parts? i hope so :dunno:

Anyway got an across last week as my first bike and have a some quick questions if anyone could answer 'em that'd be most appreciated :)

First the mirrors - has anyone got a pic of them bolted up so i can see how they're sposed to be installed. with mine the threads on the mirrors appear to be too long and when you snug the threaded 'plug' up they just flop around. So the previous owners slapped on some rather crap looking spacers. I'm thinking maybe these are mirrors off another bike and the threads are too long? or is there supposed to be another rubber block on the opposite side? any help there would be great.

Here's what they look like installed currently.

And the other question is about Carb balancing. It looks like the only way to balance the carbs is via the adjuster screw in the center of the two carby bodies, and theres no way to adjust the balance between the two "throats" in each carb body. If thats the case would you only need a manometer for a 2 cylinder engine (much cheaper).

Also with regard to the two vacuum hoses that connect the two carb banks, one of them is blocked off and the other isnt. Is that right? :dunno:

Cheers
Glen

Hey Glen,

Only just got on here to have a quick look and found your post. If you are still having issues with your Across send me a PM and I'll email you with any info you need. It'll be quicker getting a response that way.

Good luck with your new ride.

Craig aka Stick
