Hi everyone,

I have an ae92 hatch thats has an ae101 4agze transplant in it. Its not running just yet but its nearly there. The current aim is to do the engine wiring and I thought a members ride thread would be great to share some knowledge and help.
I actually need to get the car through rego and rwc so first up, is to return the car to as stock and factory as possible. However I do have a small dilemma. I have the factory 4agze ecu loom but am missing the original 4agze ecu and need to source one. Im not exactly sure if all the 4agze ECUs are the same, the 4agze map version ecu could be different, maybe someone here will be able to provide some insight.

Apart from all this :P the car will be a budget build. Nothing dodgy though. After getting the car on the road, it will be running a t25 off a silvia on a hks manifold, FMIC, 2.5" straight through exhaust, Haltech E6X, custom interior and and high end sound system. I actually have all this stuff sitting in my room waiting to be put in lol.

Heaps of pics will be up tonight :)

Cheers, Tommy

I bought the car with the 4agze. I was told it was from an ae101 and I am looking to source a factory ECU as previously mentioned but I want to make sure the 4agze isnt from an mr2 or is an AFM version.
Judging from the pics of the engine, how would I tell if it really is a MAP version? There is an engine number [4A (something) K083028 its oxidised but thats what it looks like] on the block and it would be good if I can make sure it is the original 4agze and not really a 4age with 4agze valve covers.
The seller claimed it to be an LSD gearbox, now this is more likely to be true since the engine came out of an ae101 but is there any cosmetics that determine this apart from looking through the gearbox hole and jacking the car up to turn the wheels?

Here are some pics of the barely readable engine number, gearbox and engine bay
