Hey guys thought i would start a build thread so i could get some help and feedback on my AE101.
I just acquired the car relatively cheap where i come from, $4000 NZD for a tidy 1992 Trueno GT Apex running the standard silvertop 4age, ive heard these are hard to get hold of in some parts.
As im only 17 and still in school with a low paying part time job this is going to to be a slow build up so bare with me :)
The car has had some basic mods already, mainly cosmetic:
- Lowered on super low cobra springs
- Full body kit
- 3.5inch Big bore exhaust
- HKS power flow reloaded intake
- 17inch chromies (for the girls ;p)
And it seems to have the rev cut removed as i had it at 8500rpm the other day before i shifted to 3rd :P and that seemed a bit to high to be standard lol

I want to keep the car N/A for now as insurance companys (and parents) in New Zealand dont like boosted cars until your around 25.

Here are my plans so far:
- Bigger 4-2-1 extractors
- TODA race cams (unsure of what specs to get)
- Exedy ceramic clutch
- Link G4 ECU
- Velocity stacks
- Forged internals
The list is likely to grow faster than things get ticked off :)

What do you guys think of it? Am i on the right track so far?

I'll be uploading pics soon

Sounds like you want more speed.

I recommend you get rid of the 17" chromies and get some lightweight 15 or 16s when youre not driving the ladies around :P lol because every kilo of unsprung weight measures up to 4kg of sprung weight. Id mess around with the weight of the car, removing as much as possible. :)

The 20V engines rev right till 8,500 in standard trim :)

Pics please!!

I dont want to strip the car yet as it is still my daily driver and tbh i love my music and would dearly miss the subs :P

Superlight 15's isnt a bad idea if i could find a nice set for the right price, hey they might even look good enough to keep them on permanantly, and thatd save wearing down expensive low profile Toyo's
