Hey guys just recently replaced the water pump on my little turborolla as the bearings and seals had gone. After doing this though I noticed my car seemed to sit at a lower temperature than normal I left the car for a while to heat up and at idle it was around the half mark which is what I would consider normal for this car. After driving it dips down abit not dramatically but slightly, now if i turn my heater on it goes down to about half a centimetre from the bottom. Wondering if anyone has had this type of problem, i'm happy its not overheating but at the same time i don't like running my engine when its overly cold. Not to sure if it takes an elongated time to warm up either but im going to check my thermostat was wondering if anyone had any other ideas what could be the cause?

You can order higher temp thermostats, it may be a weak thermostat that opens under normal driving pressure. What about stopped, if you hold the revs up a bit does it still far really far down the temp scale?
I do not know if it is a mechanical fan or electric, either way, check to see if the electric fan is always on. If mechanical, make sure the fan clutch has not seized solid.
Let me know what you find.
