Hey guys,

I managed to do a DIY re-spray on my 1997 Toyota Corolla hatch. It all started great until the humidity struck but I kept going in the re-spray. Now, I have orange peel effect on my drivers side doors, hood and roof. Its not noticable from a far but standing close to it it looks cloudy and rivity. I tried to wet sand the clear-coat but it is gradually better. I think the paint underneath the clear coat has also orange peeled. Does that mean I have to sand back all my clear coat off and wet rub the paint to smooth and start the clear process again?

Did you have a water trap fitted?

Did you colour/wet sand the paint before clear coat was applied?

Did you allow the above sanding to dry for 48hrs?

Finally, humidity sucks during painting, most likely the clear will need to be stripped :(

Yes to all the above questions. But I guess, if it is a home job and not very well ventilated garage, and humidity yeah I guess I will have to strip everything back again and try again.
