I have just started having problem with my transmission and believe its the diff slipping.
It started after a long drive, 300ks, and on the return trip whenever i put my foot down hard the revs go upto 4000 and even there is some excelaration it takes a few seconds before the revs drop.
Im wondering of anyone can point me in the right direction as to where to start?
Also, if there is any short term fixes i can do tell im able to have it fixed properly?
Oh, the car is a '96 Corolla RV hatch back if that makes any difference....
Thanks in advance

hey mate it sounds to me like your clutch is slipping. You need a new clutch and your flywheel machined.

Sorry, there is no such thing that can happen to a diff or the trans! Don't know where you could have possibly dreamed that up from except a clutch type LSD letting one wheel spin!!! Automatic trans clutch problems won't have that symptom alone.
DO NOT tell mechanics what you think is the problem's cause, only the symptoms lest you look very foolish and may be taken advantage of to punish you for your ridiculous guess.
