Hi ,

I have a Toyota Corolla Seca Liftback MPFI 1991 , done about 308000kms with a 4AGE Twin CAM MPFI Engine , Since about a month I am noticing White Smoke coming from Exhaust , and its smells as if something is burning pretty bad . I have to frequently top up Engine Oil ( roughly 5lts in a month ) ,other fluids such as coolant , etc remain topped up . I am wondering what could be the cause ?

This happens on 1st start in cold mornings , while engine is warm this happens on gear changes & while going uphill , i feel a jerk & a bit of loss of power. otherwise engine runs smooth .

Blown Engine or Head Gasket
or something else?

If its a blown engine , any idea how much would a good second hand one cost , i would prefer a reconditioned one , if my budget allows me.
& how much for a head gasket ?

Thanks In Advance.

Sounds like it could be your rings...
White smoke = oil
Black smoke =petrol or carbon

You have open your motor to change the rings so it's good for you to check out everything else when doing itPosted Image
