Hey all, thought I'd contribute a little something.

For the last few months I've been running a CAI with the pod being where the air box aat with a pipe running down behind the front bar. It came in a package and this pod had an adaption on the front for said pipe.

I thought I noticed a little performance gain, and thought the pod sounded awesome under fulll throttle.

But while putting my coilovers in I decided to take it out and revert to stock, Thank god I did.

The car is quicker, and only decrease is the amount of air it's able to suck in at high revs ( Ryco air filter).

For those thinking of throwing a pod in the engine bay, make sure the pod is down behind the front bar, because that's the only way it'll make a difference.

Pod in engine bay = hot air induction

Pod under guard or front bar OR with some form of piping to suck in fresh air = Cold Air Induction (CAI)

On my na 4age 100kw I ran it
* I ran a pod straight on the throttle body
* stock airbox with filter with hose from box opening to behind front bar
* stock airbox without filter with hose and pod filter in tyre well
* stock airbox with stock filter with nothing on end of the box

Pod straight on throttle God bad performance, bad fuel economy, ran like shit. Sounded good.

Stock box with hose, worse than stock as the hose created a restriction.

Pod in tyre well did pull in cold air, had that typical pod sound. Didn't run to badly

Stock box, stock filter with box end opened so all the sound deadening taken out is by far the best. Good deep intake sound, engine runs the smoothest, still retains good fuel economy. I can't notice any performance difference between the pod and stock. The na motor imo is pretty slow so any gain is so minimal and I prefer to avoid any issues like wet pod.
Stock is best with sound restrictions taken out
