Hi everyone, I really need help with a 4age 20 valve Silver Top engine, ok, I installed it in my ae86, with a 3y header, 2" 1/2 exhaust pipe, and a dynomax muffler, and took it to the dyno, it gave 135 Horse Power. didn't like it, then i got a blacktop head, and took the blacktop camshafts, and put them into the silver top head, also replaced the silver top itbs, with the black tops, and a thinner head gasket, for more compression, and took it to the dyno AND GAVE 132HP!!! i could not believe it, then the guy from the dyno moved the moved the distributor, and gave 112!!!! I was so angry, that took it down and went home. My question is, is it the timming of the engine guilty for not improving any HP? what do I need to get more Hp on a silver top? Thanks, Will apreciate it! Posted Image

what ECU do you have??
did you swap to the blacktop VVT gear?

you can only expect a change from the increased compression , bigger cams etc., if you have the equipment and skills to retune it

the changes you have made might only make a change of 5-8kw at best. this is the limit of repeatability of most chassis dynos when you are doing tests separated by significant time. in other words, you may have a slightly better result, but cant measure it!!
