Ive just bought my G/F a 1990 Holden Nova (since her AE92 Corolla popped an engine last week) with an auto 4A-FC motor.
The Nova doesnt have an RPM gauge, and neither did her rolla. She really wants an RPM gauge and im not keen on putting in an aftermarket gauge due to the fact that the new car is in almost brand new condition inside and i dont want to ruin the interior (plus i like keeping things looking standard so they dont draw unwanted attention).

What i would like to know is can i just swap the non-rpm cluster with a cluster that has an rpm gauge in it ?
Does the Nova have the plugs and wiring behind the dash to just plug the new cluster in and have everything work ?
Ive found a few on ebay, and they look identical, just with a rpm gauge where the fuel and temp gauges are on hers.

Sorry if this has been covered a million times before, but i dont know much about corolla's, and im using my G/F's cars to learn about them, while i strip the one with a blown motor and clean up her new car for blueslip.

Why do people change their rims? It looks better....
The standard dash is plain, boring and frankly looks shit.

To answer the topic question - Yes, you can just unplug the non-rpm dash cluster and plug in the rpm cluster and everything works. Shares the same plugs and all added accessories are already on the loom.

Did it today and took about 20 minutes.

I tried this last week and did NOT work - all the wiring was backwards so i took it back because i didn't want to butcher my current wiring harnesses. The temp gauge went to HOT straight away after having the car off for 4 hours and petrol read empty when it was full.
