Willie?
Correction. The bike is actually being spotted in the carpark next to the Ibis Hotel.
Seems lke it can't be anyone on the forum.

Spotted a red accross at the mechanic at the cnr of Anvil & Tucks in Toongabbie.

had a chat with the mech and he said he's getting it running for his brother in law probably so he can sell it cos it hasn't been used in ages.

It has 10XXX km on clock. couldn't see the year cos it had the steering locked.
nice looking bike. anyone interested should drop by and advise their interest to the mech to pass to the owner.

Spotted a teal across on the verge near the roundabout on wentworth/fitzwilliam/station streets intersection in Toongabbie.

Looks like he had a little off. didn't see it and didn't have time to stop.

L plates, rider resting on the embankment, a few peeps standing round. looked like he didn't do himself any real harm thankfully.

Hope he gets back on the road soon and not cost him too much in repairs.

Teal on Victoria Ave heading East (I think) most weekdays ~5pm, I'm assuming the owner works somewhere there, or just likes going to Motorcycle Accessories Warehouse.

Also see a Teal heading west on Pennant Hills Road a few times ~5:30pm.

I also nod and do a little wave to Acrossers so make sure you wave back .
I'll be the pair of studiply ugly red camo pants on a black Uly.

Next time swerve and see if you can launch over the traffic island at them.

Then you'll know they see you :D and remember you too

what kind of problems are you having - make a post in the Technical forum, or maybe there is already a solution there.

Also, i'm sure there are lots of us here that are more than eager to try to get another Across running beautifully - we just finished mine a couple of weeks ago :D

shes just running like crap, she seems to stall whenever i come to a sudden stop, me and some mates just tuned/cleaned out the carbies on the weekend, and shes alot more responsive now, but still having an idling problem. getting frustrating.

any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

what kinda things did u do to yours??

i know i need a chain/sprocket change next.

Float heights are too high (or too low? Who's the say).
Basicly the fuel level is too high in the carb float bowls (literally a bowl of fuel) and when you stop quickly the fuel flows over into the intake and floods.

Easy fix, exactly the same concept as the float in a toilet which controls the refilling of the bowl .

Your problems will most likely be the typical; throttle slide holders, float heights, idle mixtures and air filter.
I've upgraded "air filter" and "float heights" to "typical problems" now since I've noticed it's more common than I thought... thanks to Alex :)

Alex, Nate, Lussive, Greg, Andrew, etc: I suggest that we produce some detailed how-tos for the typical maintanence stuff... and I suppose I suggest to myself that I get off my freekin arse and publish the Across website! No no, it's Harte's fault for not motivating me enough :P

Thanks heaps, yeah i think its the idle mixtures, although i will have a look at everything hopefully tonight,

my throttle slide holders are to be a bit loose, so may need replacing aswell.

anyways, will let you guys know what happens next.

i'm planning on respraying her, but have to sand back the fairings and fill in the cracks with fibreglass before that.

If you are looking at putting up an across website, and need domain registration/web hosting, then let me know, and i may be able to swing something through my work...

www.chilli.net.au

Cheers again

If it still stalls or stumbles after stopping suddenly the floats are definitely out, so that's always worth checking too.

Thanks for the domain/hosting offer, I'll see what happens. I host from home (adsl2) so far coz it's just easier than stuffing around uploading things and dealing with servers I don't control.
Recon you could get cheap server housing? All I really need is bandwidth so if I could plug a server or two into Chilli's network that'd be perfect :D

White Across with Blue Stickers spotted yesterday in Hornsby.

Kinda unusual colour for the bike, anyone know who it is?

let me find out about the server housing, i'm pretty new here, but might be able to get them to provide some such service.

with regards to parts - was looking at some posts with regards to supply of parts at serco.com.au....

What i need: inside the carbies - those black things with the needle coming out at the bottom and the white plastic attachment/clip at the top ( dont know what they are called ) but there is alot of play between the black barrell and the white clip

Chain - not sure what kind i should get, i push my bike pretty hard and have gone through one set of chain and sprockets in the last year

springs and seals and oil for front shocks

Sprockets - front and rear

where is the best place to get these from??? is there places cheaper than the likes of MCAS asa i'm on a heaps tight budget but would really like to get the bike running better, expecially now that summer is almost upon us...

i started going on a ride up to avalon last night, but with the bike idling badly, and the constant noise from my chain unnerving me and the forks not really absorbing anything at all i decided to pull out at harrys cafe de wheels, which was a shame as it was a nice night for a ride.

Anyways - any thoughts on where i should go for parts would be appreciated.

do u guys go on rides, when was the last one - whens the next one? anything planned??

You posted in the wrong section, this is a spotting thread...

slide/throttle holders the white plastic bits go fairly regularly. most bike shops will sell em.

Anyway, spotted a teal this morning with his helmet hanging out of the boot, parked in Queen Street melbourne next to mine anyone here?
